National Geographic Explore VR Machu Picchu

The Virtual Reality National Geographic Explore VR Antarctica experience for the Oculus Quest was extended with a Machu Picchu experience
Captured in game video and images via the Unreal Engine and created the cover art for the game.

Once again setting off as a NatGeo explorer on an interactive expedition, you’ll discover the Inca citadel in the mountains of Peru. As you explore this incredible place, you’ll experience its history through digital reconstructions of the past. Witness mummy worship inspect an Inca home, and raise a cup of sacred chicha beer. Equipped with a hand-held digital camera, you’ll be able to record your discoveries from every angle. Take landscape, portrait and panorama photos for Nat Geo magazine, maybe you can even capture a truly spectacular image worthy of a cover shot! Display your photos on your photo wall – or share to Facebook!

The team spent two weeks on-site, shooting over 25,000 photos to bring an unparalleled, photo-realistic experience to Oculus Quest! Unlike a 360-movie experience, which only allows a single point-of-view, these are immersive, truly three-dimensional environments to explore. Navigate in room-scale and closely inspect details so real they can almost be touched.
